Finally Belize! We so looked forward to arriving there. The Carabeen sea WOW!!! But watch out..., cities are not really great even dirty and dangerous. And what a challenges to find beaches there. People like saying to you "ENJOY Belize" but there's nothing to see. The islands are supposed to be magnificent but to go there it is a bit too expensive for cyclists budget. On the other hand their beer is really excellent, the BELIKIN, it wins even international prize. Once in the capital, Belmopan, we went to Guatemala by San Ignacio. It is the only border on the continent between these 2 countries. It is possible to camp at the Mana Kai campground and cabins. It is on your right immediately after the river at the entrance of the city. San Ignacio is a city offering several interesting activities like ATM caves, that we really appreciate. Actun Tunchil Muknal caves inclued a walk in forest where we learn which tree produce the rubber, that the other one have an absolutely terrible tast and used as natural repulsive against the stinging insects and still more. Once in the cave we see and learns all the history of the Maya people who came to make offerings and sacrifices to the Gods of 2 worlds (more than 12 different). It is really very interesting. We see fossils of bowls, one of the only human skeletons 100% intact in the world and some other things. We stayed on with a bitter tast of this country. You have to know that you will have to pay approximately US $25 to get out of the country AND have this amount cash because there is no other payment method.
